Every elected official longs to hear what the citizens they represent desire regarding active legislation. Here’s how you can share your thoughts:
1. Find your Legislators’ phone number and call it.
2. A friendly staffer will answer the phone.
3. Your message can be as simple as this:
Good morning. My name is Jane Smith, and I am a constituent. I am calling in support of Senate Bill XYZ. (Or if you oppose, you can say, I am calling against Senate Bill XYZ.)
(It will be very helpful if “XYZ” is a specific bill number. For example, Senate Bill 137.)
4. The staffer will say, “Thank you, Ms. Smith for calling. I have recorded your support (or that you are against) Senate Bill XYZ. Is there anything else I can help you with this morning?”
